Users

User records will be similar, in most respects, to the “user profile” record which, after all, is your user record.

Fields and functions:

NICKNAME.  With the prevalence of names that cannot be correctly rendered by English-biased speech-to-text editors, we include a function that searches users by nicknames.  For instance, if you say “Mafouz”, your speech to text editor might render “my foods”.  And in this case, you will find that it comes in handy to be able to refer to Mafouz by his nickname.  It’ll save you typing.  It will also be convenient on the off-chance that you have two people names Smith.  You can call one of them “smitty” and the other “junior”.

PAY RATE, as you would expect, is a field for saving the rate of pay for the user.  This field is referenced when payroll calculations are performed.

PAY TYPE may be either “1099” or “W2”.  This field is also referenced for payroll calculations.

CLOCK REMINDER.  You may notice on the clock records a field called “remind me”. “Remind me” sets the value of a time to send a “clock out reminder” so many hours after creation of the record.  You may enter a certain number of hours for the value of “remind me” when you create a clock record.  Or, you may let the clock records that you create inherit this value from your user record “clock reminder” value.  “Clock reminder” on the user record is defaulted to “2”, but you can set it otherwise.  Set it to “5” for instance, and you will receive a text message “clock reminder” to clock out roughly 5 hours after your first clock record.

All user records must include a valid mobile phone and a valid email.  Otherwise, user functions cannot be accessed.
